Welcome UNFPA Youth Advisory Panel Members & Advocates!

WHO ARE WE and WHY OUR NING IS BEING CREATED?

What is our GOAL?

There will be an overall improvement in the quality of life of Filipino adolescents and youth in terms of reproductive health and rights, gender equality and equity, and STI with special focus on HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support.

What is OUR expected OUTCOME?

The Youth Advisory Panel will positively influence UNFPA and its partner agencies in the assessment, formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of their various programs and services that are youth-friendly, gender and culture sensitive, and responsive.

What are our OBJECTIVES?

• Strengthen the mechanism of information exchange about best practices and lessons learned that are experienced by the YAP members;

• Ensure active Youth Advisory Panel involvement in the development of UNFPA’s policies, programs and activities across the areas of its mandate that will have greater appreciation and understanding on youth issues; and

• Intensify YAP networks with other YAPs and youth groups in the national and global arena through constant collaboration and coordination of adolescents and youth concerns.

Why our NING is being created?

We believe on the saying that, "You will only get the accurate solution of problems of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) to adolescents also." Moreover, we believe that young people's voice is very important. Hence, we created this ning. We want to consolidate all thoughts of young people coming from different parts of the Philippines to ensure a young people's perspective in the conceptualization, implementation and evaluation of programs of UNFPA to our country, through their partner agencies. The gaps and weaknesses will become our lessons while strengths and opportunities will be maximized. Moreover, young people's analysis on these scenario will be the basis of the panel to advance the interest of majority of young people in the country in their dialogue to UNFPA and eventually to United Nation. So every efforts made in this ning will not be put to waste because it will be a big loss for us, members of the panel, to disregard your voices!

As member of NING, How can we help with the campaign?

As member of ning, you can help by simply...
1. Inviting your fellow young people to become member of our ning;
2. Copying and pasting our NING's Badge, can be seen at the lower right of our site, to our friendster, facebook, multiply or any site;
2. Visiting our ning regularly for updates and opportunities;
3. Contributing and sharing your thoughts on issues pertaining to ASRH in your locality;
4. Submitting any practical and effective strategy to address such issue;
5. Posting your Personal or organizational, whatever the case may be, activity updates relevant to ASRH campaign;
6. Informing us if you need technical help in your locality, if any and possible, like being a resource person on particular issue; and
7. Making abuse of our ning's services like chat, posting photos and others!

Let's keep our promises to cut poverty into half by year 2015!
